A Russian conglomerate is applying for planning permission to build a Disneyland resort in Pyla in Cyprus. Scheduled to be the largest ever single investment made on the island it will create around 3,000 jobs according to Cyprus' finance minister Charilaos Stavrakis.
The investors were looking at Serbia for this project, but were persuaded to Cyprus by a Cypriot delegation, which highlighted the country's political stability, EU membership and year round sunny weather.
If approved this could add an invaluable boost to property purchasing in the area, where already a new marina which will handle cruise ships and extended airport are being built.
