Spring is finally here and here are a few tips on how you can spruce up your home to add more value to your property.
Make a good first impression by increasing your curb’s appeal. Make sure the driveway, sidewalks and steps are in good condition. Clean out any dirt, oil and grime that can darken and stain your concrete to give the appearance that you are keeping your curb well maintained at all times. To clean out the dirt, power wash the concrete by renting a machine at your local Home Depot or local home improvement store. You could also buy one for use over and over again like the Pressure “power” washers that start for as low as $100. Another solution is to use stain. This is as simple as choosing the color, buying a gallon, and then rolling it onto your surface. To prep your concrete, sweep the surface and then power wash or scrub it with soap and water.
Another thing you can do to increase your curb’s appeal is by changing the color of your front door. Select a bright or contrasting color so that it doesn’t match the color of your house. Red complements green hues, and blue complements orange hues.
Other improvements would be to change or update light fixtures and make a little vegetable garden in your backyard. Home gardening is growing popular because 1 out of every 3 families does some type of gardening.
